Electronic government is one of the most freguently mentioned themes in the public sector reform. Since public preceptions of bureaucracy became more nagative in advanced countries in 1980s, a strong demand for government reform has been shared among the public at large in Korea as well as some advanced countries. A response to this is e-government. Especially, during the last ten years information technology has been flourshing, those countries have been pursuing competitively the public sector reform through e-government under the New Public Management imperatives which oriented to small but effiecient, i.e., doing more with less, government structure and operation.(From Chapter 4)
